Letters that breathe, bend, and hold their nerve.
Lumen draws and engineers variable typefaces built to move. Every axis is a dial, every glyph an instrument. Bring your cursor to the headline: the letters lean toward the light.

Four live axes, one drawing. This is the whole point of variable type: one file, every voice between whisper and shout.

Type is frozen sound. We build the thaw.
A letterform is a decision repeated ten thousand times. We make those decisions slowly, by hand, in a small studio above a print shop in Oslo, then ship them as instruments anyone can play.
Every Lumen family is variable-first. We do not interpolate as an afterthought; we design the axes before the outlines. Weight is a volume knob. Optical size is a distance. Softness is the temperature of the room.
The library is small on purpose. Three families, obsessively finished, hinted, kerned against real copy in six languages, and tested at nine pixels and nine metres.
